Errors and return codes
HTTP errors carry a code and a message. Broker rejections carry the return code, its text, a reason and the raw comment, so 10019 is “not enough money” and never “failed”.
| HTTP | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 400 | The request is malformed; the message names the field. |
| 401 | The signature or the timestamp is not acceptable. |
| 403 | The key may not do this. |
| 404 | Not yours, or not there. Another customer’s id is a 404, never a 403. |
| 409 | The state does not allow it, or no capacity fits; the message says which. |
| 429 | Over budget; retry_after_s says when to try again. |
| 5xx | Ours. The status page says what is happening. |
Execution methods in the SDKs never raise on any of these; they return a result with a reason.
